- What to Do After Approval
ED Visa Structure & Duration
The ED visa for studying Thai at a language school is initially issued as a 90-day visa. This visa can be extended within Thailand, allowing you to continue your studies based on your chosen program duration.
At Experience Language School, we offer 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month study programs. Your total stay is achieved through a combination of visa issuance and extensions in accordance with Thai immigration regulations.
For extended study periods, you may be required to apply for additional extensions or a new ED visa. Our team will guide you throughout the process to ensure a smooth and well-managed experience.
Please note that ED visa conditions for language schools may differ from those for universities, and all approvals are subject to immigration authorities.
Arrival & School Registration
Once you receive your 90-day Non-Immigrant ED Visa and arrive in Thailand, you are required to visit Experience Language School within 7 days with your passport.
This step is essential for completing your registration and allowing our team to submit the necessary documents to the Ministry of Education in preparation for your visa extension.
Visa Extension (TM 7)
As your initial 90-day visa approaches its expiry date, you will need to extend your stay at the Immigration Office to maintain your ED visa status. The school will notify students in the LINE group regarding document collection, and students are advised to apply for the extension 3–7 days before their current visa expires.
Since the school is located in Bangkok, visa extensions must be completed at the Government Complex. During the process, immigration officers may ask simple Thai questions to confirm your participation in the course. After the extension is completed, immigration officers may also visit the school to verify your student status.
REQUIREMENTS
- Passport
- TM 30 form
- Cash - 1900 baht (visa extension fee)
- Documents provided from School
90-Day Reporting (TM 47)
All ED visa holders are required to report their residential address to immigration every 90 days. This is a routine requirement and not related to visa extensions.
Your first report may coincide with your initial extension if you have remained in Thailand. After that, reporting can be completed online or through an agent, without the need to visit Immigration in person.
Reporting must be completed within the designated timeframe. Late submissions may result in a fine of 2,000 THB.
REQUIREMENTS
- TM 47 form
- TM 30 form
- Previous 90-day reporting receipt
ADDITIONAL NOTES

TM30
The TM30 form is required for visa applications, visa extensions, and 90-day reporting in Thailand.
Under Thai immigration regulations, property owners or landlords are required to report foreign residents to the Immigration Bureau. Therefore, students must obtain a TM30 receipt from their landlord before proceeding with any visa-related process.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Your registered address must be within the Bangkok Metropolitan Region, including Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, or Pathum Thani.
- You must update your TM.30 if your check-out date expires or if you change your residence.
- The check-in date must also be updated whenever you receive a new entry stamp in your passport.
- When applying for a visa, visa extension, or 90-day report, your TM.30 check-out date should have at least 30 days of remaining validity.
- For convenience, we recommend setting your check-out period for 6 months to 1 year.
Re-Entry Permit Guidelines
If you plan to leave Thailand during your studies, you must apply for a re-entry permit before departure. Without this permit, your ED visa will be automatically cancelled upon exit.
Re-entry permits are available as single-entry or multiple-entry options and can be obtained at Immigration offices or major airports.
Please note that a re-entry permit does not replace your visa extension requirements. You must return to Thailand before your extension expires to maintain your visa status.

- Multiple re-entry permit: 3,800 THB
